Let me introduce myself…

If you had asked my 17-year-old self if I could imagine the life I have now, I would burst out in laughter. I never expected the weird teenage me, being a divorced single mom of two, having four career changes, and now back in school to further my education.

Growing up, I was obsessed with music, the escape it would give me when I listened to it loud lip singing on my bed, pretending to be on stage. My favorite song was from Hole, “Violet,” Courtney Love’s growling voice when she shouts, “Go on, take everything, take everything I want you to.” That was my jam, thrashing my long black hair around and sometimes falling off my bed. The lyrics would make me feel like my feelings were validated when I listened to songs like this.
